I just wanted to give a shout out to this neat 3-part environmental event going on tomorrow night, June 30, 2010, from 6pm to 10pm (details here). Local Warming will be held at the Navy Memorial and feature wine-tasting, a Solutions Fair, and premier of the film Local Warming by Tom Reilly. The wine tasting and Solutions Fair will start at 6pm and feature:
- Free snacks by Local 16, Bread & Brew, and MOM’s Organic Market
- Unlimited free beer (sustainably brewed of course) from Sierra Nevada
- Wine tastings from Tarara, Black Ankle, and Barrel Oak Wineries.
- Exhibitors: My Emissions Exchange, Clean Currents, Energy Efficiency Experts, among many others
The film will be screened at 7:30 followed by a panel discussion. You can view the trailer here. The cost is a $10 donation to Chesapeake Climate Action Network (CCAN). It also gets you a first free glass of wine. Not too shabby.
(OH and think of this as an events teaser. My “oh my god I’m in DC for July 4th and I need to do something but everywhere I turn I am surrounded by American flag hats and ice cream cones and am having a panic attack” events post will be tomorrow. Worry not, dear reader)
