Whip out the stretch pants, tomorrow (6/4) is National Donut Day

Of course we have National Donut Day. And of course National Donut Day has a wikipedia page that traces it’s history back to to 1938 when female volunteers gave donuts to U.S. soldiers in WWII, which basically ensures it will never go away EVER because it’s woven into the fabric of U.S. freedom. And of course, despite my protests, I will go. I will go to Dunkin Donuts and get a coffee and a free THIS:

The SPY donut of choice

PERFECTION. The maple-frosted. The most underrated of donuts. The most overrated? Any donut with stuff inside it, like jelly or custard, such that it all oozes out when you bite into it. Hideous. Shouldn’t even count as a donut, since it doesn’t have a hole.

Krispy Kreme will be giving out free donuts, while Dunkin Donuts will be giving out a free donut with beverage purchase. Happy donuting USA!

  1. 1. Boston cream is an amazing, amazing donut.

    2. No one other than you gets maple frosted

  2. But … how many donut holes do you think you can eat in one sitting? I’m placing my over/under at 100.
